Subject: Children's home

Dear Mother,

Thank you very much for your email. Rebecca stays in our mind. She mingled with the family. We all love her very much. I hope she is flying to Asutralia. I know it is too long to meet your loving child.

I had the opportunity to see your whole family in photos. Rebecca showed us.

And your email surprised me. Thank you so much for coming forward to help our children home project. The construction work is going on. We will finish the work before May 25th, 2005. The opening ceremony will be on 28th, May 2005.

Bless me to come across all my work. It is my fervent hope that blessings for elder and guidance of good hearted people will make me to succeed in all my social activities.

Kindly allow me to call you as mother. We treated Rebecca as sister. So Rebecca's mother is my mother. I lost my father when I was 6 months child and lost my mother when I was 20 years old boy.

Many incidents in my life, moulded me to do something useful for the rural public. Presently we are running a special school for child labour, a blood donation youth wing and a 24 hours free ambulance vehicle.

Regarding the children home I am very happy to give you the following details. I do not want any help for the land and building. Because with many financial crisis and problems I am about to finish it.

Supports from good people encourages me to continue the building construction.

The present need is . . . . .
· A new or old (second hand vehicle) to bring vegetables, grocery and other needs to the home regularly.
· Motor for borewell and plumbing work cost.
· Electricity connection for building.
· Foster parents for 100 children
· Running cost for home

As you know it is a long standing project. Even if I am no more the children's life should not become a question.

We have identified 220 children affected in Tsunami. But as first phase we are selecting only 100 children. If there are helps we can help the other 120 children also.

The children selected by us are orphans, semi orphans, affected by tsunami giant wave, poor and needy. The majority of the children are Christians. Roman Catholics. All are fishermen community. They lost their parents, houses, family members, boats, nets, books and note books, certificates and all. At present most of them are in camps, temporary sheds, and relatives' houses. All are helpless. We are working for them for the past 4 months. We are working in 10 villages. We have adopted 3 villages totally. We are helping 6 helpless families directly.

Supplying them with food, rice, grocery, milk powder, plastic pots, buckets, stowes, kerosene, bags, dress materials, blankets, play things and sweets for kids, electricity connation for houses and temporary sheds were our tsunami rescue, relief and rehabilitation works. As there are no one to care these children, we came to a connection to open a home for them. And now it happens.

I thank one and all coming forward to help me in this noble cause. I want to thank your friends, relatives, supporters, church members and everybody join hands together for helping to poor children. All details enclosed herewith for your perusal and action. Copy for this letter was sent to Rebecca. She will be happy seeing my letter. I must thank her for introducing you to me. Thank you mother. Convey my respect to Rebecca's father and love to her sister.

When time permits kindly visit our village. Expecting your rep;y.

Thanking you,
Yours lovingly,
Thirumaran.
